The headline reads ‘South Yorkshire: Oyster-style bus travel cards have hit the shops’ 31st March 2015  but of course they’re nothing like the genuine London Oyster cards that seamlessly integrate tube, bus and overgound journeys within a single daily and capped fare offer. For that we’ll have to wait for the Transport for the North plan to first be approved, then funded and finally implemented … and how many years or decades will that take? Oyster was introduced in London in 2003.
